Are you committed to the empowerment, growth, and human rights of individuals in the local Western Massachusetts community? Advance your career in human services and direct care with BHN!

Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Residential Supervisor I in the Residential program at Behavioral Health Network! Residential Supervisors assist and monitor the activities of daily living of the individuals we serve and work to maintain, enhance, and foster social support networks and relationships. They oversee all aspects of medication treatment and administration as well as provide at least 8 hours of direct support each week. They are responsible for providing regular and direct supervision, support, and guidance to their program staff. In addition, Residential Supervisors participate in the hiring and onboarding of new employees and create staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet program needs.

Residential Supervisors also provide opportunities for community activities and ensure that an adequate supply of well-balanced and nutritious food and other supplies are on site. Serving as a member of the area on-call team and as a Human Rights Office, they provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed. Finally, the Residential Supervisor provides individuals with safe and timely transportation and recognizes and reports program-specific safety and maintenance concerns at their property.

BHN values the individuals we serve in shared living and small group homes. Each person we serve is part of a team that includes family, BHN staff, and other providers who work together to assess the individual's needs and goals and then create and maintain a plan reflecting strengths, capabilities and desires.

BHN began as a partnership clinic with the Dept. of Mental Health and over the years has evolved into a comprehensive, community behavioral health center. DMH remains a primary funding source, yet BHN has been successful in diversifying its funding sources through contracting with other state agencies, managed care organizations and health care plans and insurers.

BHN is an organization whose current structure has evolved from a series of corporate mergers and affiliations. In 1992, three Springfield-based agencies and one Agawam-based organization merged to create the comprehensiveness that serves as our core programs. BHN then affiliated with the Center for Human Development to create the region’s largest human service and behavioral health organization.

This evolution of BHN from a small partnership agency to a comprehensive mental health organization is demonstration of our attempts to build on community partnerships, promote integration and efficiency of services and maintain a commitment to mission.
