Do you want to put your skills as a finance professional to the test? A company in the San Jose, California area has a dire need for a Senior Financial Analyst. Qualified candidates should apply via Robert Half Finance and Accounting. You will operationalize and cultivate data-driven planning processes and improve upon monthly and quarterly reporting. This Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness. You will render variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. Major responsibilities - Cooperate closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans - Make and supervise forecasting reports - Direct weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P L forecasting - Consider performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities - Explain monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required - Master and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending - Sanction effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support - Log monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources - Collaborate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process - Cooperate with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization Contact colleen.mcauliffe@roberthalf.com for additional information.

Job Requirements

- Skillfulness in simplifying complex problems and building solutions - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, MBA preferred - 3+ years experience with advanced financial analysis, planning and budget controls required - Professionally trained in financial reporting tools - Superb presentation skills - Command of financial modeling - Experience with Analyze Variance - Strong familiarity with forecasting modeling - Budgeting experience - Cash Flow Modeling experience
