What does a great (Software Engineer) do?
As a Software Engineer in an agile development environment, you will be working with a dynamic Delivery Team and providing results against the Product Roadmap. Your expertise and experience in designing, developing the software product, crafting test plans for the delivery team and driving that strategy to fulfillment will be critical to your role. As a mentor and guide to the members on the Scrum teams, you will help them learn the tools and processes needed to successfully enable design, development and creation of test scripts as part of the Scrum development cycle. Establishing best-practices, provide input to quality standards, looking for continuous improvement initiatives and help the team grow as they pursue initiation of the roadmap. Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
Work experience in analytics or business intelligence capacity.
Hands-on experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, Looker, etc.
Knowledge of industry-standard ETL tools (e.g. Informatica), their purpose, and best practices
Experience with automation for testing, continuous integration, code coverage, and build processes
Familiarity with database design, functional scripting or domain-specific programming languages
Database security and performance methodologies
Knowledge of one or more of the following programming/scripting languages: Perl, Python, C, C#, Java, etc.
Basic level of experience with Unix/Linux, Windows and shell scripts.
Occasional travel may be required for company events.Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of software development and/or quality assurance testing work experience
2+ years’ experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases and data warehouses.
Prior agile/scrum delivery team experience
High level of proficiency working with ETL Tools like Informatica
Experience developing Tableau reports
Proficient in creating Test plans, Test Cases and Test scripts
Experience in manual and/or automated testing
Unix scripting experience
Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented while demonstrating strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
Able to work effectively under pressure, independently, and within a collaborative team-oriented environment
