Vaco Raleigh is currently assisting one of our clients in Raleigh, NC with its search for a Senior Financial Analyst.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will need to be a highly motivated, analytical-minded individual to help this organization make smart business decisions. The ideal candidate is someone who can fulfill responsibilities which include but are not limited to supporting the company with revenue forecasting and reporting, financial and governmental reporting, expense variance analysis, financial process re-engineering, modeling, and reporting tool queries as well as budgeting and reporting activities.

This team is currently working 4-5 days in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses research, statistical techniques, and empirical data to perform financial analysis and assist with capital budgets; analyzes budget implementation and related financial activities
  • Provides technical assistance to professional staff including monitoring and managing budgeted resources and Oracle financial software applications
  • Prepares the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, including management discussion and accounting footnotes
  • Develop complex financial models that guide the company's strategic decision-making efforts
  • Ensures all internal financial reporting including monthly executive package as well as departmental operating statements are completed timely and accurately
  • Analyzes divisional and departmental financial issues and budget requests
  • Monitors departmental revenues and expenditures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, state / federal requirements, and related guidelines
  • Assists in research projects, proposals, or other activities designed to improve operating efficiency or effectiveness
  • Prepares all compliance reporting in a timely manner per government and covenant regulations
  • Prepares and analyzes departmental revenue and expense reporting
  • Supports re-engineering for revenue-to-collect, financial close, reporting, and budgeting
  • Develops, enhances, and maintains financial models for revenue and expense forecasting
  • Assist in providing financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment, revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, balance sheet including variances of actual to budget and year over year
  • Perform ad hoc P&L analysis to ensure accuracy, maximize gross profit, challenge operational assumptions, and meet profitability goals
  • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions, reviews publications and audio-visual materials
  • Performs additional related work as required

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience is required including financial modeling and budgets
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field is required, MBA is a plus
  • Must live in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area and be authorized to work in the US
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of implementation with ERP systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, forecasting, US GAAP, and other common accounting practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
