The Ceded Re Finance and Operations function is responsible for delivering a strategic and forward-looking organization that will:

* Advance the Company's growth and profitability goals through the enablement of the Risk Funding strategy.

* Provide clear accountability for outward reinsurance contracts, outwards reinsurance controls and outward reinsurance reporting.

* Drive process excellence and better data and analytics through technological enablement and expanding partnership with Genpact.

The Ceded Re Finance Senior Analyst (CRSA) will report to the Risk Funding Controller. The CRSA will provide operational support for ceded re cash administration, open balance monitoring, bordereaux reporting, collections/settlements, reconciliations and other related ceded activities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Global Risk Funding/Ceded Re Operational Support

* Coordinate the day-to-day management of ceded cash, including

cash administration in reinsurance system (ProCede), LORS and GL

* Supervise the monitoring and settlement of open ceded balances

* Assist with collections and preparation of ceded payments

* Oversee ceded cashflow projections

* Regular reporting of status of ceded settlements including aged reports. Provide various cash reports and metrics.

* Manage ceded payable and recoverable account balances and reconciliations

* Assist in the review of cash journal entries and cash Logs

* Support the billing and settlement of ceded bordereaux as well as assist in the resolution of related complex challenges and market inquiries

* Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure timely cash administration and inquiry responses

* Support ceded reporting to markets to ensure appropriate level of service

* Support departmental compliance with operational controls including, but not limited to SOX controls

* Work with foreign currencies related to conversions and settlements

* Other ad-hoc requests as required

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent

* Minimum 5 years' experience in reinsurance operations

* Strong analytical and reconciliation skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Advanced excel knowledge a must

* Internationally recognized accounting qualification pursuit or equivalent experience (CPA, ARe, CPCU) a plus

* Retrocession and / or third-party capital industry knowledge with operations and reporting experience a plus

* Experience with ceded reinsurance and financial systems a plus (ProCede and Oracle/SmartView)

KEY PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Highly motivated and organized to drive company initiatives, showing a strong level of accountability, integrity, and professionalism

* Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure and respond to changing priorities

* Team player with ability to collaborate with internal and external customers, understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them

* Excellent oral and written communication skills, which will include report writing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

* Highly numerate with analytical and problem solvency abilities

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 95 to 115 (NY), 85 to 110 (Chi), 80 to 100 (GA)]. Expected salary range information for Toronto available on candidate request. ?The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
