Responsibilities

This Supervisory Transportation Security Specialist position is located in Policy, Planning and Engagement (PPE) , Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees I-STEP service contracts and surveillance processes, including assigned contracting officer representatives and technical monitors to ensure I-STEP contractor services meet contract requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with I-STEP's standards and monitoring evolving threats and risks to ensure exercises are relevant to current risk
  • Conducting and evaluating training exercises for all transportation modes that address current and emerging threats to enhance transportation operator's preparedness and resilience to a terrorist attack
  • Developing and coordinating action plans, including purchase request packages, to accelerate action, optimize resource allocation, and manage risks associated with I-STEP requirements.
  • Performing full supervisory/managerial duties for assigned staff and contributing to the planning process for budgetary, equipment/supplies and human resources needs.

Qualifications

To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band(equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
  • Preparing and maintaining reports and presentations for senior federal officials on transportation security programs; and
  • Conducting analyses of transportation security exercises and training events; and
  • Providing technical advice or guidance on transportation security laws, policies and regulations

Note: For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses from an accredited college or university, which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. NOTE: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
