Pipe Fitter | Pipe Layer

Applicant will have basic tools and experience to perform installation of flanged pipe, PVC pipe, threaded pipe, and underground pipe according to sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.

• Perform layout – square, on line and on grade.
• Work with and around heavy equipment to safely excavate and trench for underground pipe.
• Plan and sequence installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
• Cut pipe using saws, torches, or other means.
• Thread pipe using threading machine.
• Assemble and install pipe and pipe fittings, including those made of ductile iron, copper, stainless steel, and PVC.
• Secure pipes and supports to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers.
• Setup and test piping systems for leaks with air and/or water.
• Knowledge and ability to use basic power tools.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to the attention of the supervisor.
• Must be physically capable of climbing, carrying up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking up to 10-hour workdays, working outdoors in adverse conditions.
