Compensation: $110,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year

A growing Oil and Gas Construction company located in The Woodlands is looking for an Accounting Supervisor. The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising monthly accounting procedures, analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and related disclosures, and to ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Responsibilities include: • Lead the overall month-end close process including the maintenance of the closing calendar, review of the general ledger, and the preparation and distribution of applicable financial reports. • Supervise the Accounting department to ensure all monthly financial reporting deadlines are met in accordance with upper management expectations. • Perform financial statement variance analysis on a monthly basis. • Prepare consolidated and subsidiary financial statements and research issues to ensure proper US GAAP treatment. • Assist with the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. • Respond to inquiries from the Controller, CFO, and firm wide managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requests. • Prepare Journal Entries and account reconciliations as needed. • Review and approve Journal Entries and monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations. • Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end audit processes including preparation of audit schedules, organization and review of supporting documentation for the audit, and ensure a clean and timely filing of each year-end financial statement audit. • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting procedures and stay current on US GAAP regulations by attending various continuing education seminars/conferences. • Assist Controller with special projects as necessary. Ideal candidate will have a BBA/ Masters in Accounting, CPA is required and 5+ years progressive leadership experience including experience from a big 4 accounting firm. You must have experience in a construction environment including experience with job cost accounting, WIP and percent of completion (POC) revenue recognition. Compensation is 120K.
