Georgia Transportation Business Group Manager
The Georgia Transportation Engineering Business Group Manager will be responsible for business development, leading the transportation business group for the Georgia area, hiring and managing staff, managing and overseeing projects, and managing the profit and loss for the business group. This role will lead transportation strategic planning such as: determining capabilities needed in the market; investment decisions on new hires and developmental training; software requirements and changes to organizational structure. The selected individual will assist the Area Manager in budget development and serves as an advisor providing leadership and oversight to Section Managers on project execution, quality management plan implementation, and marketing pursuits.
Organizational Duties: The Transportation Manager will be the "Face of HDR" to GDOT and all public transportation clients.
Duties will include overall leadership and guidance of the transportation staff. Section Managers and transportation staff will report to this individual and this individual will be heavily involved in the pursuit and recruitment of new and strategic hires.
Technical Duties: The Transportation Manager will fill the Principal in Charge (PIC) role and provide overall leadership for all transportation projects; when appropriate the Transportation Manager will lead Major Projects as the Project Manager. This individual will also conduct QA/QC project reviews, work sharing, and general communications with staff.
Marketing Duties: This position will take a leadership role in the development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as client manager and project manager. This position will work with the Marketing Manager and Area Managers to create business development strategies, client development plans, strategic plans, and project capture plans. This position will also work with Transportation Leadership and be responsible for achieving defined group marketing goals for sales, cost, profit, project schedules, and quality.
