Finance Specialist

About the role
The Finance Specialist is responsible for maintaining all financial records of BAH, insurance, and payables for an assigned property.
 
What you'll be doing

  • Audits and maintains company log for site specific delinquencies, utility rebates and collections, BAH allotment stops and reimbursements, and petty cash fund. Follows up and collects all delinquent monies owed.

  • Reports financial figures and projects to the Community Manager to ensure compliance and adherence to company budgetary standards.

  • Processes all weekly invoices; codes bills to proper General Ledger, enters bills into Yardi, prints out for the Community Manager’s signature, and mails to corporate accounts payable department for processing of payments.

  • Responsible for assessing damage to vacated units and communicating and collecting charges for repairs, replacements and cleaning from the previous resident.

  • Responsible for the upkeep of files to be sent to collecting agency for previous residents with balance owed after 30 days vacancy. Send accounts to collection agency.

  • Tracks all company vehicle tag and sticker renewals in accordance with state regulations.

  • Orders all office supplies and uniforms upon approval from Community Manager.

  • Tracks and resolves unpaid invoices and/or billing discrepancies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Physical Demands: Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.


Who we're looking for

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance plus two (2) years of experience in an accounting function or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Must possess Notary certification or be willing to acquire one.

  • Possession of a valid state issued Drivers License and safe driving record are required.
