Position Overview

This position contributes to the success of the company by leading the production team to maintain an effective, safe & efficient plant operation. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage production team performance & schedule to ensure efficiency, accuracy
  • Serve as in-house Subject Matter Expert on Press Equipment and Operation
  • Run in-house print jobs that need variable printing
  • Assist Production Employees with complicated tasks and/or equipment troubleshooting
  • Create bill of materials for orders; modifies/enters part numbers as needed
  • Work with sales on new label application for quotes and new orders
  • Work with vendors on material compliance for agency’s approval (UL/RoHs/Reach) and fill out customer paperwork
  • Manage material demands, cut purchase orders for raw materials & other shop supplies
  • Coordinate new printing plate folders & plate remakes
  • Close jobs, making sure the right amount of materials have been taken out of inventory
  • Quote/order new dies and coordinate retools
  • Oversee inventory of paper stock, Finished Goods and Ribbon
  • Oversee customer returns for production errors, determine corrective actions
  • Keep preventative maintenance program in practice
  • Maintain a Continuous Improvement mindset and lead Process Improvement efforts
  • Ensure all production work areas are clean and organized

Requirements

  • Background in production/manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Technical aptitude a plus
  • MS Office Experience
  • ERP system experience a plus
  • Adaptability to changing objectives and priorities

Physical requirements of position

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis, 50 pounds occasionally

Exposure to Hazardous Materials

Following all federal, state, local, and IDT specific safety guidelines as prescribed in the employee handbook and subsequent company safety training. Some minor exposure to hazardous materials such as epoxies, cleaners, etc. may be required as part of this job. Please refer to the material’s specific MSDS for proper handling instructions.
