In the Mechanical Department Manager role, you will have the opportunity to establish, promote and ensure quality on all mechanical projects and work performed by the Raleigh mechanical staff. Specifically, you will assign department personnel to project teams, and assist in or lead the development of fee and scope proposals. In addition, you will determine labor, resource, and financial needs of the mechanical department and assist the Raleigh Office Director with budgeting for the mechanical department and oversee expenditures of the office?s mechanical department. Responsibilities: •Provide leadership to the office?s Mechanical Engineering Department •Help establish and grow the office?s Mechanical Engineering Department •Provide specification and design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for architectural projects within defined budgets •Maintain and foster relationships with clients •Lead the mechanical department in the production of quality designs while achieving profit goals •Lead multi-discipline engineering teams on selected projects, serving as the client?s main point of contact for the engineering team •Provide oversight of mechanical engineering projects Requirements: •Design and leadership experience with a focus on: o Client Satisfaction o Quality o Financial Accountability o Leading and managing a technical staff o Managing architectural projects •10+ years of experience in the design of buildings and related projects •Experience leading project design teams •Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering •Registered Mechanical Engineer, with the ability to achieve registration in the state of North Carolina •Experience in the design of HVAC, hydronic piping systems, central plants, building automation, medical gas, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various types of projects including commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare and residential construction •Experience with AutoCAD and Revit Recommendations: •Energy Modeling experience •NCEES •LEED AP accreditation We are an equal employment opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age (40 and over), gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other protected classification under federal and state law.
