Public Relations Consultant - Remote Contract! - Contract
3 Months - ***Part time role - around 25 weekly hours***
100% Remote
Description:
Overview of role:
*This is a temporary position to cover medical leave. The position reports to client's Head of Public Relations. The role is fully remote, with no travel requirements*
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and execute public relations strategies to support business goals and enhance and protect client's brand reputation.
Work collaboratively across Corporate Affairs and business-line marketing in support of an integrated communications approach.
Draft and distribute compelling pitches and press releases to garner media coverage.
Draft talking points to help prepare spokespeople for media interviews.
Attend project meetings, interview SMEs, and develop key messages.
Adhere to brand guidelines and AP style.
Qualifications:
Mid- to senior-level public relations professional
Experience in financial services/retirement/life insurance industries; agency experience a plus
Proven track record of success with high-quality media placements
Highly articulate self-starter who anticipates the needs of journalists and knows instinctively what makes a good news story
Skilled at writing press releases and quick story pitches
Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications, social media, brand/marketing, and business SMEs to develop and executive high-quality integrated communication plans
Manage and coordinate content development, review/approval and execution
Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Degree in PR, journalism or equivalent field, with at least 10 years of proven success in media relations and corporate PR
