Overview

Responsible for technical/production support and process development/optimization for assigned process area(s) and its applicability to the Repair and/or OEM business.



Responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement of the assigned process
  • Optimize process uniformity through the use of a robust problem-solving methodology
  • Develop models with KPIs to predict process outcomes
  • Optimize process variables to ensure the process is in control
  • Utilize project management skills to lead assigned projects/programs to successful completion considering technical, budgetary and schedule requirements
  • Monitor and sustain yield/throughput improvement within the process
  • Resolve line down situations and use failure analysis to investigate root causes of problems
  • Provide technical support to special engineering projects and assignments
  • Successfully maintain a process(es) that produces parts that conform to internal and external specification
  • Process maintenance – documentation, process and testing compliance, NADCAP planning and certification as required
  • Enforce process procedures, specifications and requirements
  • Coach the operations associates to improve and take ownership of these processes
  • Emphasis on the quality control of all process variables
  • Ensure that all part defects and operational defects are analyzed through root cause and corrective actions
  • Perform dispositions of discrepant parts, through traveler or other approved vehicle.
  • Recommend and implement tooling/equipment improvements. Troubleshoot process/production problems and implement actions/solutions, monitor sustainability of actions and report out results.
  • Maintain 5S of assigned area and verify completion of all TPM activities.
  • Monitor work area for safety and/or environmental violations; report immediately if found.
  • Provide technical assistance to sister divisions.
  • Traveling outside of the facility, as required.
  • Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed.


Qualifications

  • Ability to read, interpret blueprints and equipment manuals
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand work in-process documents
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Leadership, team building, and communication skills
  • Fluent in Windows based software (Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Lean/Six Sigma Training or Green Belt Certified
  • PMP certified (desired)
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5-10 years of experience in aerospace or machining industry(preferred)
  • Technical degrees from certified institutes with 10+ years of experience in aerospace industry will be considered
  • High school diploma with 15+ years of experience in aerospace industry will be considered
