Outline of Duties:
  • Examine and analyze safety, quality, cost, and delivery data. Provide reports to Management and Production Group Leaders.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data to establish and control all aspects of the assigned processes.
  • Develop and lead significant process optimization changes, kaizens, and cost saving opportunities applying engineering principles and analytical techniques for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products.
  • Investigate product quality changes as well as facility changes needed related to current/new model development.
  • Process planning, evaluation, and modifications.
  • Conduct equipment reviews and buyoffs for new or modified equipment.
  • Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, Suppliers, and Contractors related to assigned processes.
  • Review and interpret applicable regulations related to assigned processes.
  • Implement countermeasures to resolve non-conformances using Root-Cause Analysis, PDCA Cycles, Fishbone Analysis, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong analytical and problem-solving ability, proven people skills, and ability with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to work overtime, including weekends, shutdowns, and holidays (as needed).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience and education.
  • Knowledge in automotive electrodeposition paint application, or related field.
  • Knowledge in metal surface cleaning and treatment as it pertains to an electrodeposition paint application process.
  • Automotive industry experience and vehicle body assembly experience
  • Previous capital budget and project management experience.
  • Experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to robotics, communication networks, and automotive processes.
