White’s Residential and Family Services JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Custodian/Second Shift/Part Time/SFLC/Hodson Center Department: Support Services Employment Status: Part-time/Regular/Non Exempt Qualifications: A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct. This person must be 21 years of age and must have a high school diploma or GED. Custodial experience is preferred. Reports to: Director of Support Services Job Summary: The custodian is responsible for the appearance of the facility. Cleans facility rooms, offices, bathrooms, hallways, stairways and all other areas as assigned. Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs. Basic Responsibilities 1 Cleans areas per the posted schedule and as directed by the Director of Support Services 2. Maintains carpeted areas as scheduled 3. Maintains hard surface floors as scheduled. 4. Work on project work as assigned by the Director of Support Services 5. Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Support Services . Skill, Supervision, Knowledge and Ability * Must be skilled in the use of various equipment: rotos, burnishers, upright vacuums, extractors, canister vacuums, wet vacuums, etc. * Must be a team player. This person needs to enjoy working closely with other staff members and have the ability to be flexible, adaptive, and positive in his/her interactions. * Must work well under limited supervision. * Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. * Must be committed to the Mission, Core Values, and Vision of White’s Residential and Family Services. Physical Demands of Position * Must be able to reach overhead, climb ladders or stairs, lift/carry or push/pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) * Must have the energy and physical stamina to move freely about, and be able to sit or stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours). Working Conditions * Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, time can be flexible. Must be able to work on a weekend rotation schedule. (8 weeks) Must be able to work special events as needed (Open Door Dinner) (Staff Christmas Party. * Work hours are subject to change at the discretion of the Director of Support Services. * Work Holidays as scheduled. * Must attend work regularly and be on time.
