Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time benefits coordinator to administer college benefits; educate employees about the benefits; use technology to develop and manage complex databases; manage all FMLA, worker's compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability absences; and accurately enter and manage data in numerous data systems.
Duties include serving as the first point of contact for employees inquiring about all benefits; creating attractive benefit materials; administering all worker's compensation and FMLA absences to ensure compliance with the FMLA, including preparing notices, informing employees about policies, determining disability eligibility and processing same when applicable; and serving as retirement coordinator for the state of Maryland.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, office technology or relevant field; five years of related work experience working with medical insurance and retirement plans; and advanced MS Excel, MS Word, database management and desktop publishing skills.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in higher education, experience working with partially self-funded plans, Maryland State Retirement Coordinator certification, and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or benefits specific certification.
