Technical Sales Representative

Emerson Bakersfield/California, CA Full Time

If you are a Technical Sales Representative looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a Technical Sales Professional to serve a diverse customer base including, Upstream Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage, Agriculture and Chemical industries. This position is located in Bakersfield, CA and would focus on the surrounding territory supporting our Measurement Solutions product portfolio. The primary objective of this position is to meet or exceed order bookings and business objectives within the assigned territory and accounts. AS A TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE, YOU WILL: 

  • Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales
  • Make regular customer visits, maintain, and build relationships to better understand customer needs
  • Successfully provide sales solutions independently and collaboratively as part of the larger sales team
  • Identify and recommend account strategies through territory business analysis and presentations
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts.
  • You honor commitments and keep confidences.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 4-year technical degree related to company product or industry
  • 3 years of related sales experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States -sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
  • Ability to travel within the local territory 50% of the time

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Sales experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Food and Beverage, Agriculture and/or Chemical
