Description PowerSecure is seeking a Market, Competitive Intelligence, and Energy Policy Analyst to join the Corporate Finance team in support of PowerSecure’ s (PS) Finance and Governmental Affairs & Policy organizations. The Corporate Finance team supports development and implementation of strategic initiatives in the Finance, Business Development and Commercial Sales organizations. We are seeking an individual with a passion for working with market data andresearching potential business opportunities in support of micro-grid and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) deployments while also partnering with the Governmental Affairs & Policy organization to monitor, research and evaluate state- and region-level policy developments (i.e., regulatory, and legislative developments) that may impact the business. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to make significant contributions to the financial performance of the company. IND1 Primary Responsibilities: Primary Duties will include (but are not limited to): + Providing market competitive intelligence, market opportunities, RFP/RFQ identification, and support commercial with potential new market opportunities. + Performing product and customer segmentation. Performing PS’s market and competitive analysis on an ongoing basis. + Evaluating market opportunity for a new offering, competitive market intelligence, market size, and formulating informed opinion on potential opportunities. + Supporting Corporate Development with creating business cases for new products and services. + with Sales and Marketing organization on an ongoing basis. + Monitoring, researching, and evaluating legislative and regulatory developments across all states and electricity market regions. + Communicating the results of the analysis to leadership and stakeholders. + Collaborating with our customers on ad hoc analyses and research studies. + Converting data into effective visualizations. + Supporting leadership with annual strategic planning. + Collaborating with internal stakeholders—e.g., Sales, Corporate Development, Governmental Affairs & Policy, and other PS and Southern Power Company (SPC) and Southern Company functions. + Cross functionally supporting SPC energy market, competitive intelligence, andenergy policy activities as appropriate. Basic Qualifications: + 3+ years of market and competitive research experience + 1+ year of experience with data analysis - transforming the data into a highly usable state. + 1+ years of experience with pricing for products/services/solutions. + 1+ years of experience researching energy policy + Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications Preferred Qualifications: + 1+ years of experience with financial or market analysis + 1+ years of data science skills - e. g. clustering and regression analysis, analytical modeling + Knowledge of micro-grids, power systems and energy markets in general Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/economics, political science, or relevant technicalfield is preferred.Advanced degree is desirable. Work Location:This position consists of a hybrid work schedule--combination of on site at our Durham, NCfacility and remote work. Relocation:Relocation expenses for out-of-state/non-local candidates will be considered on a case-by casebasis.
