Quality Inspector (A&P/IA) Wanted for Immediate Hire!

Aerotek's client is currently looking for a Quality Inspector that has recent mechanic experience with reading logbooks, researching logbooks, has the know-how to work on aircraft from nose to tail. With the client being DOD/DHS, we are looking for a candidate that has previous or current government contracting experience.

  • Inspectors Aircraft (IAs) are responsible to the Chief Inspector (Director Of Maintenance/Chief of Quality/CLS Manager/Program Manager) for the efficient and economic determination of airworthiness of aircraft and proper/quality of maintenance work assigned to them to review.
  • Performs assigned inspection functions in accordance with company and manufacturer's inspection procedures to ensure that aircraft are maintained to the prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability for all scheduled operations.
  • Performs inspection functions for aircraft, including power plant, materials, parts and subassemblies.
  • Reviews the aircraft and engine log books (including historical records and TBOs as appropriate) at all checks and reviews all pilot/crew discrepancy reports and deferred maintenance items write-ups and corrective actions taken on appropriate work cards.
  • Performs required inspection functions during all checks such as airframe and engine inspections called out on routine work cards.
  • Performs buy-back inspections on major items or non-routine work items.
  • Signs off log book, pilot discrepancy reports and deferred maintenance items on completion of maintenance work. Inspects component exchanges covered by work cards during other maintenance functions.
  • Certifies the aircraft airworthiness after an inspection by signing the appropriate aircraft release form(s).
  • Ensures all inspections are performed as required for scheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, or component changes to ensure that approved equipment and materials are being utilized and high standards of workmanship are being attained.
  • Records all discrepancies found on non-routine work cards or as otherwise specified in the aircraft maintenance manual.
  • Submits recommendations for the elimination of recurrent mechanical deficiencies determined during aircraft inspection procedures and the elimination of unnecessary maintenance procedures as determined by practical experience.
  • Monitors all aircraft inspections record forms which are utilized in aircraft checks to ensure proper completion of all entries.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid A&P license
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience with military/government contracting
  • Must be eligible for US Security Clearance
