Expanding insurance entity is looking for a high level financial analyst for their Dallas office. This person will be responsible for in-depth analysis, forecasting, budget modeling and ad-hoc reporting to determine and report operational performance. This individual will also assist in corporate financial planning, monthly reporting and analysis, and driving accountability through developing and deploying metrics to measure success and identify risk and opportunities within the operating group.
Works as a key finance partner to ensure monthly results, consolidation, annual financial plan, periodic forecasts, and reporting activities are completed with accuracy and data integrity
Assists with group forecast and budget processes.
Obtains adequate knowledge of operational processes and metrics in order to provide the C-suite with valuable insights from the data gathered.
Partners with the operations team members and the controllership team to assure proper linkage and priorities to support financial reporting
Collaborates on ad-hoc projects as the leadership requires financial analytic support
Assists with monthly performance review activities and interacts with operational groups to ensure comprehensive understanding of company performance and implications for future reporting
Develops various monthly reports to enhance understanding of business performance
Assists with the preparation of financial results and analytics for leadership
Works to ensure financial presentations include a clear interpretation of the data, valuable insights into the business operations, and action plans to mitigate/moderate issues as needed. Strong financial modeling capability is a plus in this role
Develops a deep understanding of company financial systems and processes, and gains insights into how key operating levers impact financial performance
Assists improvement efforts including development of systems, tools, and processes that align with the Division’s long-term financial strategy
Involved in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for businesses reporting

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS, or related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant Finance or Accounting experience
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and report creation
Insurance experience a plus
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, knowledge of SQL and Cognos preferred
Experience working with large quantities of data and a demonstrated aptitude for analyzing data
Knowledge and experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data visualization applications (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, DOMO) is ideal
Ability to leverage applications to develop budgets, forecasts and financial reporting is a plus
