We are currently seeking a highly-skilled, reliable, and motivated Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction team. This is a permanent, full-time role where you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in our commercial construction projects. You will be a key player in ensuring the plumbing systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with local codes.
Responsibilities:
As a Journeyman Plumber, you will have a range of tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
1. Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
2. Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures in commercial buildings.
3. Inspecting plumbing systems and identifying issues that need repair or replacement.
4. Collaborating with the construction team to ensure plumbing works align with the overall project plan.
5. Ensuring all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
6. Ordering and receiving supplies and materials for plumbing projects.
7. Training and mentoring apprentice plumbers to ensure the development of quality skills.
8. Responding to, diagnosing, and resolving plumbing emergencies.
9. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A valid journeyman plumber license.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a journeyman or master plumber, preferably in the commercial construction industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems and the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
4. Familiarity with local, state, and national plumbing codes.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a variety of weather conditions.
8. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
9. High school diploma or equivalent. Further technical training or certification will be a plus.
