Job Description

SUMMARY:

The VP of Sales Marketing is responsible for helping the company to achieve financial goals and objectives and increase operating performance. Prepares budgets, creates businesses plans, and solves internal issues as they arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review forecast of fuel available for sale and determine amounts to be offered.

• Set daily selling price for fuel at terminals, fob plants and by rail.

• Identify and lead new business opportunities and manage current business relationships by meeting with customers, feedstock suppliers, fuel terminals, and rail resources.

• Participate in negotiations, review contracts and work with Legal re contracts.

• Formulate, implement and monitor the strategic plan that guides the direction of logistics, sales, feedstock procurement and operations.

• Forecast feedstock basis levels for margin projections.

• Participate in identification of CI opportunities.

• Approve price to pay for feedstocks and long-term feedstock agreements.

• Develop Hedging plans and execute approved plans.

• Sell HO futures, buy BSO futures contracts, sell rins, sell LCFS credits.

• Work with the NBB re legislative, trade and EPA issues and participate in lobbying efforts.

• Oversee the marketing of co-products and review sales performance of the same.

• Set goals for margin improvement thru cost reduction of feedstocks and logistics, and improved sales prices.

• Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards.

• Manage, retain and motivate a team ensuring company policies and procedures are followed including goal setting, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives are met.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred

• 5+ years’ experience in biofuel or petroleum sales

• 8+ years’ experience in procurement

• Strong Leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage a team

• Proven experience in executive or managerial position with strong business acumen
