The Manager, Market Research is responsible for generating, integrating and translating insights and analytics into growth opportunities and tactics that shape decisions and drive organizational action within the Janssen Biotech, Inc. Oncology Business Unit.

This position will partner closely with the existing Franchise Commercial Insight & Strategy team, cross functional partners, and external strategic partners, while serving as an internal consultant to the Franchise Marketing & Sales teams. This position plays a key role in advising and counseling business partners in the development of new and existing business strategies, emerging trends, as well as key opportunities and challenges. Areas of focus include Oncology Ecosystem, Key Account Managers, OCEs, Pathway Providers, Professional & Patient Associations, Digital Engagement, and KOL engagement. This role will be lead professional market research and business intelligence efforts within the Oncology franchise team.

Manager, Market Research Oncology Franchise will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of primary research plan for various stakeholders across the broader Oncology ecosystem, such as D-Suite leaders within Key Accounts, Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, and Pathway Providers.

  • Leads design of an overall market research plan to address franchise strategic imperatives, identify appropriate supplier partners, foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall project goals.

  • Be accountable for conducting research activities in a compliant manner.

  • Integrate primary research insights with analytical insights to build a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the marketplace and key business issues within the Oncology therapeutic area, and translate these into business impact.

  • Provide strategic input to help shape strategic and business plans, franchise strategies, new product launch plans, and life cycle management.

  • Focus on key business questions/issues and frame business problems into research plans.

  • Bring an innovative mindset, looking for different or better ways of approaching challenges.

  • Expand on the delivery of meaningful Business Intelligence to inform and guide the broader Oncology Franchise Business.

  • Have the ability to uncover, synthesize, and deliver meaningful information from syndicated and publicly available reports.

  • Apply basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation for impact.

  • Partner across the Commercial Insight & Strategy team to integrate all information into strategies and organizational actions that drive results with key stakeholders.

  • The ability to demonstrate leadership courage in order to set boundaries and ensure time is spent on the most critical/ high value projects is critical.

  • Stay abreast of emerging healthcare & pharmaceutical industry trends and assess their potential impact on our franchise business strategies.

  • Act with speed, agility and accountability.

  • Cultivate meaningful internal and external partnerships, adding value and insights for the organization; being insight driven to uncover important unmet needs.

  • Presents complex issues in a clear and persuasive manner effectively communicating recommendations to cross functional teams and brand team.

  • Take personal accountability for making Credo-based decisions and fostering a Credo-based culture.

Qualifications

Role Requirements:

+ + BA/BS required; Advanced degree desirable. A minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience in market research, business intelligence, marketing, sales, business analytics, strategic planning, or management consulting.

+ + Diversity of experience is preferred, with demonstrated learning agility in order to be able to move across different types of markets such as primary care/retail or specialty markets.

+ + Business/market experience and industry knowledge to influence franchise/brand level decisions and strategies are required

+ + Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed, dynamic environment and ability to build business relationships required.

+ + Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

This position is based in Horsham, PA and requires up to 25% domestic travel.
