Job Description

OVERVIEW:  The Social Worker is to work in a licensed out-patient mental health clinic that specializes in mental health 14 hours per week and 21 hours per week off site in a high school in the community providing universal and selected services in conjunction with a community board organizing agency. Also providing mental health consultation services at the school.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Provide individual, family and group therapy to individuals and families at our base clinic and off site at the high school.Provide mental health consultations and workshops at the high school.

  • Complete intakes, initiated  initial treatment plans and review the plan  and discharge summaries for clients on caseload

  • Use evidence based modalities to treat individuals, families, and lead small groups.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, e.g. progress notes, assessments and treatment plans, statistics, and other documentation as required by The Jewish Board, and governmental licensing and funding entities.

  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and continuing education activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar setting.  Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification is required.  Must be fluent in the Spanish language.  Prior experience with teenagers a plus but not required.  Prior experience with substance abuse a plus but not required.


  • The work environment involves walking up 5 flights of stairs in the school. There are no physical risks or hazardous conditions.
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, the candidate is routinely required to sit, stand and walk throughout the day.
