Salary Range: $27.09 - $37.25/hr DOE
Schedule: Four 10 hour shifts (Sunday-Wednesday OR Wednesday-Sunday)

JOB SUMMARY

We are a non-profit agency in Santa Rosa that operates a short term residential treatment program and non-public school for youth who have significant mental health needs. We are looking for Mental Health Rehab Specialists to work in our community-based homes and teach the youth individual living skills, social skills and help the youth engage in various community activities. We need compassionate, positive role models to get involved and make a difference!

As a member of the specialty mental health services team, the Mental Health Rehab Specialist is responsible for providing Specialty Mental Health Services to youths and/or their families and/or care providers in their school, group home, and community environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides individual and family support services in accordance with the individualized plans.
  • Able to effectively engage, develop relationships with appropriate boundaries with assigned clients.
  • Effectively manages a flexible community based schedule.
  • Completes all required documentation according to Agency and program standards within required time constraints.
  • Is an active member of assigned treatment teams.
  • Meets Agency service percentage standard reflecting expected time with clients, if applicable.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess an Associates’ degree and 6 years related work experience (two years of the work experience must be post AA experience) OR a Bachelors’ degree and 4 years’ experience or a Masters’ degree and 2 years’ experience.

POSITION/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  • Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test, drug screening test (excluding THC) and a physical.
  • Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  • Must be flexible to work nights and weekends/on-call, may need to work a split-shift, varying schedule according to operational need.
  • Must obtain First Aid Certification. Must obtain a CPR Certification (only when required by local county or program).
  • Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in a residential, office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching balancing and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
  • Physically able to perform Pro-ACT Restraint Techniques (STRTP Programs Only), CPR and First Aid as trained.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle for traveling to recreational activities, home visits, DCFS and court locations which may be up to 100 miles driving distance.
  • Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing and working with files.
