    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Degree or equivalent training and experience in Information Systems, Bachelor Degree Preferred.
    • MCP desired; VCP, CCNP or MCSA or related certifications a plus.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
    Hands-on position overseeing equipment responsible for District-Wide Server and related equipment support; assuring optimal availability of associated systems, applications and user related services. Implements the overall vision for the Oswego School District system services.
    1. Responsible for deploying, installing, configuring and reliably supporting all Microsoft, VMWare and Linux servers, IIS, SQL, AD, file and print and associated automated backup and system updates and applications which run on the servers.
    2. Utilize system monitoring tools to assure system health and optimal performance and availability.
    3. Support and maintain District directory services, Google Suite software and back-office applications which support students and staff.
    4. Responsible for configuring and monitoring Rubrik backup platform.
    5. Experience dealing with and preventing viruses and other security related issues on servers and workstations or related equipment.
    6. Communicate to users and administration on problem status and measurements.
    7. Log all activities associated with the maintenance of systems hardware and software.
    8. Maintain and create effective system procedures and methodologies for preventive maintenance plans, replacement plans, and other long-range planning.
    9. Evaluate and recommend new software or hardware that pertains to the environment infrastructure
    10. Take ownership of production issues, working closely with the various teams on issue resolution
    11. Position will not only provide day-to-day support but also provide and implement short-term goals for the systems department.
    12. Candidate will be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
    13. Will work for continuous improvement of the environment.
    14. Provide after hours support as projects or issues arise.
    15. Travel between District buildings
    16. Perform other related duties as assigned

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Three years experience in support of Systems running Microsoft network operating systems.
    • Two years' experience supporting VMWare hypervisor environment
    • Experience managing a large A.D. environment
    • Experience with creating and maintaining group policy
    • Experience with maintenance of all aspects of enterprise servers and associated systems including remote management like iDRAC or iLO. Dell/Nutanix preferred.
    • Experience with SAN technologies including iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and LUN management. EMC preferred
    • Experience with high availability and replication technologies as it pertains to Active Directory, files and virtualization
    • Implemented and maintained backup technologies. Rubrik preferred
    • Working knowledge of application tools: word processing, spreadsheet, database, MS Project and Visio for technical documentation.
    • Experience with Systems Management via SCOM.
    • Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP addressing.
    • In depth knowledge of common network/systems protocols including but not limited to DNS, LDAP, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP.
    • Experience with SCCM, FRM, DFS
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
