Quality Assurance & Compliance Supervisor

Job Summary:

Our client is a $13.5 billion global food company driven by quality, innovation and sustainability that dominates the sales channels of this multi-billion dollar beverage market. Established over 20 years ago, this dairy company has significantly grown and is currently comprised of approximately 45 manufacturing plants serving over 13,000 dairy farmers nationwide. This local plant, located in the Greater Springfield MO Area, manufactures iconic brands generating over $310 million in volume annually.

For our client, the QA & Compliance Supervisor directs, supervises and coordinates testing procedures and operations requiring a broad knowledge of statistical process control factors, quality processes, product and material specifications and production engineering applications, to provide product manufacturing that meets quality, quantity, schedule and cost requirements. This role will be responsible for organizing and assigning work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, labor hours, lab and testing equipment to the best advantages to obtain most favorable inspection costs, consistent application and production output. This position also manages the Master Sanitation Schedule ensuring all areas of the plant are in compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously drive the facility’s culture toward a higher level of safety
  • Provide training, instruction and development of technicians and maintain close surveillance over procedures to ensure the success of technicians during finished products or raw materials inspections
  • Manage employee’s performance by establishing expectations and accountability
  • Develop, review and implement Quality Control Procedures and ensure finished product meets customer’s specifications and expectations
  • Manage the department’s budget to ensure it meets or exceeds financial goals
  • Partner with R&D to prepare MBRs for new products
  • Investigate quality issues and complaints
  • Identify and retain highly effective personnel through proper selection, training and establishing expectations
  • Manage hourly employee’s activities in order to meet or exceed the standards and specifications established by Quality Assurance and the organization
  • Drive the MSS program, manage the Sanitation Standards, Procedures Equipment Inspection and Sanitary equipment standards on daily basis
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities within the facility
  • Manage the 5S implementation daily throughout department by ensuring understanding and establishing sustainability
  • Partner with other departments regarding the resolution of ongoing problems, implementation of new procedures, the injection of new products or product lines and the development of new plan and designs
  • Drive key performance indicators to all levels within the organization and recommend necessary changes to enhance the business objectives

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing environment, including 3-5 years of supervisory responsibilities
