Job Description

Schneider has an immediate need for a passionate and accountable Safety and Training Analyst to oversee the daily operations of a single Schneider Training Academy and small satellite location(s). The Safety and Training Analyst will provide leadership to one administrative associate and several driver trainers who are responsible for new and existing driver on-boarding, executing training programs as designed, and recommending training design adjustments to better meet the needs of the learners and the organization. The Safety and Training Analyst will also coordinate with outside vendors and customers to ensure best value to the organization, as well as being accountable for the management and delivery of business metrics and training center costs through the use of data analysis and reporting. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Recommending training center staffing levels, course process and content modification, facilities maintenance improvements and establishing training schedules to meet training needs
  • Defining, tracking, reporting and managing key training metrics that provide best in class training for our drivers while ensuring the safest and most cost effective means of deployment for the organization
  • Collaborating with dispatch to ensure available freight for training to maximize education
  • Working closely with 0-90 day driver managers to evaluate and identify trends with the new driver fleet and incorporate activities and changes that address safety and performance deficiencies
  • Accountability for the driver readiness evaluation process, ensuring driver readiness prior to student handoff

Job Requirements

Our preferred candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience 
  • One or two years of successful experience in Operations
  • Three to five years of training experience
  • Previous leadership experience that include the ability to bring a group to consensus
  • Strong analytical skills along with excellent problem identification, resolution skills and the ability to identify trends
  • Excellent decision making ability and judgment  
  • Solid judgment and sensitivity
  • Ability to foster a team environment, be a self manager and perform with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with outside agencies (State DOT agencies, local government, law enforcement, etc)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software and data base management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work extended schedules to include some weekends
  • Availability on nights and weekends via cell phone if there are issues with a student
  • Travel limited to 5 to 10%
