SageWest Healthcare - Riverton

The Admissions Clerk Team Lead is responsible for the daily operations of the admissions department which includes, but is not limited to, registering hospital inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients for services, scheduling of admissions and PBX staff, communicating QA results and providing training for new and existing admissions staff. This position obtains all necessary documentation and signatures for consents. Also responsible for collection of co-payments and deductibles, answering phones and directing patients. The Admissions staff is the initial contact most patients have with the hospital. The Admissions Clerk's role is to create a sense of caring, while respecting the dignity and privacy of patients.

Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED preferred
  • Previous experience with accounting, billing and collecting is highly desirable
  • Accurate typing skills and basic experience with computers
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend accurately and effectively in written and spoken English
  • Ability to perform math calculations accurately: percentage rates, discounts, payments, etc.
  • Must posses high quality, positive interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with a moderate level of noise and interruptions
  • Ability to discuss financial matters in detail over the phone and spending long periods of time on the telephone, speaking with people
