Reporting to the Corporate Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Manager coordinates the daily responsibilities of pharmacy technical staff (Certified Pharmacy Technicians) in the administration of the pharmacy benefit at the Health Plan level for the Medicaid, Exchange and Medicare lines of business in support of the Market Pharmacy Directors.


  • Assists in researching and resolving pharmacy issues, and oversees all aspects of the approval and authorization processes for drugs and covered medical supplies  
  • Provides support to the Marketing and Customer Service staff, enabling them to assist members in understanding and utilizing pharmacy benefits
  • Develops standardized reporting and process to analyze data in support of Health Plan initiatives, to track PBM claims processing request implementation and accuracy, and maximize positive results in the areas of service, cost and quality  
  • Coordinates Quarterly P&T and DUR meetings, and acts as a liaison between the Health Plans and the internal Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Perform Rx  
  • Responsible for execution of the plan lock-in programs and pharmacy appeals reconsiderations process  
  • Provides direction, training, and monitoring of employee performance
  • Assists in new business implementations


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • Active/current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (i.e., ExCPT, NCCT, PTCB) required
  • Minimum five (5) years of current/recent pharmacy claims processing and managed care experience required
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
