As a key member of the Operations Finance team, the Financial Analyst (FA) is responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting for the manufacturing team. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the internal control environment. The FA is expected to acquire a detailed understanding of our plants operations and loss points and develop a strong working relationship with both Plant and HQ team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and overhead.
Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
Makes estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
Recommends cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Participate in month-end close, validates cost of goods sold, and prepares cost adjustments and/or journal entries as necessary. Analyzes inventory valuation and inventory roll forward.
Reviews standard and actual costs for accuracy and prepares variance reports.
Assists plant managers with reporting key performance indicators related to utilization, efficiency, and yields.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
3+ years’ experience in data collection and/or cost analysis
Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, problem solve and work with limited supervision
- Deliver strong performance independently and as a member of multiple teams
- Awareness of generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes Oxley.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as a team.
Some travel required
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Majority of work is performed in an office environment.
