The Network Support Engineer’s role to build, support and maintain KN technology infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to network devices, LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure and applicable support and diagnostic tools.

Your Role

Design, support, implement LAN, WAN, Wireless, branch site support, break fix, startup, upgrades, adds, moves and changes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Recommend and build KN infrastructure environments
  • Support KN infrastructure 24x7x365
  • Provide support to internal customers
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users and recommend and implement corrective solutions as needed
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages and/or emails regarding infrastructure issues
  • Install and support infrastructure tools and utilities
  • Document instances of network failure, repair, installation and removal
  • Write technical specifications for purchase of corporate technology
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and software
  • Contact, coordinate and support third-party support as needed
  • Recommend, schedule and perform infrastructure improvements, upgrades and repairs
  • Create, manage and maintain network diagrams and documentation
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware and corporate technology needs
  • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Your Skills and Experiences


  • Excellent technical knowledge of networking and other hardware
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network operating systems
  • Comprehensive hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, software and standards
  • Ability to interface with and coordinate WAN vendors
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides
  • Ability to conduct research into infrastructure products and issues as required
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Self motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong customer-service orientation


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or 6 years equivalent work experience
