Medical Assistant - Education Program Coordinator - AdventHealth Medical Group

Work Hours/Shift: Fulltime Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Actively instructs clinical orientation, clinical courses, and annual competency sessions.

  • Provides input for development and roll out training materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists for clinical skills.

  • Serves as the trainer and effective mentor and educational resources to staff with emphasis on training new employees and employees identified as needing more training, and providing feedback to leaders.

  • Assist with onboarding of student externs, including, but not limited to, providing assistance and support to all students regarding the application process, supporting documents, orientation requirements; secures preceptor and ensures all documents and application are complete and approved prior to the student rotations.

  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, classes, and event sessions for new hire orientations and education events.

  • Proctor certification exams.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical or ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience as a clinical preceptor or trainer in designated role or field (preferred)
  • Experience teaching in formal/informal setting (preferred)
  • Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)
    • American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
    • American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
    • National Healthcareer Association (“NHA”) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Ability to speak and present to large groups.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn new technologies and/or processes.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Education Manager and/or the Senior Manager of Clinical Education, the Education Program Coordinator (MA) functions to facilitate the goals and initiatives of the Clinical Education team.  This position assists with clinical orientation, completion of clinical competencies and assessments, assist with all facets of the implementation of the MA career ladder, and works in conjunction with the AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) - Central Florida Division (CFDS) Student Program to arrange student clinical rotations at AHMG-CFDS.
