Position Overview

The Senior System Architect will join the Shaw Contract digital marketing team and be responsible for the design, configuration, operation and maintenance of the various systems required to power the digital expressions of the Shaw Contract brand. The Senior System Architect will lead and develop web, database, and application solutions to deliver superior customer experience and architect a framework that is sustainable and scalable across our global business. This role will work from our commercial marketing campus in Cartersville, GA.

To accomplish the main functions of bringing together the pieces — or architecture — of a system while ensuring that current and future performance and scalability are achievable, The Senior System Architect will perform a wide range of tasks.

The Senior System Architect will be responsible for:

  • Designs and Implements short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software

  • Ensures that all planned and in-place system architectures are aligned with the business goals.

  • Provides expertise and architectural assistance to supporting the marketing & IS/IT teams as well as various internal and external partners.

  • Conducts research on new technologies and be instrumental in ensuring an ever improving customer experience.

  • Designs, creates and monitors the implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

  • Reviews new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems. Guiding and structuring partner and consultant efforts is also key in this area.

  • Developing solutions and architecting systems that deliver superior customer experiences for both end users of the various sites and applications, and teams

  • Consults with cross functional teams and stakeholders to further infrastructure development.

  • Expected to develop and execute test plans to check technical performance of infrastructure and report findings and recommendations for improvement.

  • Develops policies for standardizing systems and manage many of the aspects related to ongoing system support and development.

Skills & Requirements: The Senior System Architect must not only possess programming skills, they must also demonstrate organization and conceptualization skills. They should also be able to delegate tasks to other members of a team and manage large projects and competing priorities. In addition candidates must demonstrate:

  • Familiarity and expertise in a variety of programs and languages (.NET, React, Pardot, SalesForce, MDM, SQL,Tableau, Google Analytics)

  • Experience solving infrastructure and customer experience challenges for a global business

  • Proven experience developing strategic system architecture plans

  • Proven experience developing system applications, web services, and CMS solutions

  • Demonstrated understanding of user experience and cross channel customer engagement

  • Proven ability to execute pixel perfect designs across multiple types of experiences, websites, mobile and web applications

  • Extensive experience building iterative systems designed to improve over time based on customer feedback, data, and measurable value delivered to the business

  • Extensive experience in system and network creation and development

  • Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices

  • Above-average analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience conducting technology, trends, standards and products research

  • Solid track record in prioritizing and executing tasks when under pressure

  • Experience providing guidance and leadership to development teams and system engineers

  • Proven experience identifying, analyzing and resolving system problems

  • Proven experience leading teams to effectively prioritize work into sprints

  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams around the world through project management and collaboration software (Basecamp, Monday.com, G Suite, WorkFront, etc)

Background & Education:   

  • At least 10 years of experience in architecture, software or system engineering, or product management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computers Science, Engineering or Related Field

  • Experience in analysis and resolution of multi-dimensional enterprise-wide problems.

  • Experience building effective relationships and collaboratively communicating throughout a complex organization.

  • Experience considering and weighing costs, complexities, supportability, and adherence to well-designed principles when defining solutions and road maps.

  • Experience leading system and service design and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Experience reaching broad and wide, frequently outside of preconceived boundaries, to achieve the highest business value.
