IT Security Analyst Campus Bloomington

Under the direction of CITO’s Associate Director of Data Privacy, Policy and Security, the position helps design, implement and maintain multi-layered security architectures and services. Performs high-level analysis of complex and disparate computing systems, networks and data architectures to identify, rectify and prevent technical and information security vulnerabilities. The work is performed on critical automated processes, computer systems, networks, databases, information systems, telecommunication systems, and computer policies, procedures and practices. Providing a practical and technical level of security expertise and consulting to the entire RC (College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Art, Architecture + Design, the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, the Media School, and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs) when called upon.

Serves as a key member of CITO’s enterprise Disaster Response and IT Incident teams as part of a master business continuity plan. The membership role is extremely sensitive and requires professional status. Team members are on 24×7 call status.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and three years of advanced systems analysis, systems programming, and systems administration experience.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Programming skills in language and scripting environments: .NET framework, C++/C#, Java/J2EE & Visual Basic; Windows PowerShell, VB Scripting, JavaScript, JSON, Perl, PHP, HTML, CSS, Cold Fusion, DHTML, ASP.NET

Industry standard IT Security Certifications such as CompTia’s Security Plus, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Analyst) or solid progress toward MCSA (highly desired). In-depth knowledge of information security management and practice and understanding of privacy and security regulations.

Preferred Qualifications 

One year of advanced information security analysis, incident response, and abuse investigation experience; One year experience in technical staff management; Experience in a university-based technology environment; Programming skills in MSSQL\MySQL.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands 

Must be able to lift thirty pounds unaided and work from various physical angles such as kneeling and crouched positions to access devices and wiring.

Salary Range  $46,218 - $50,000
