Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is searching for a Junior level Developer. This position is CONTINGENT upon award of Task Orders. The successful Junior Software Engineer candidate will be involved in all stages of application development life cycle including requirements, analysis, design, development, implementation and support. He/she should be highly adaptable in quickly changing technical environments with very strong organizational and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will participate in status meetings, designated customer meeting, and internal meetings, and provide deliverables on time and of high quality.

This individual also has familiarity with Linux. In this particular role, this individual will help support the operations, maintenance, and development of a search and retrieval system consisting of several multi-tier applications deployed to the Amazon AWS infrastructure, hosting millions of digital objects and documents.

Additionally, the individual should have basic web front-end development knowledge. Some knowledge of basic MySQL and Oracle databases, Apache Tomcat (or equivalent Java EE servlet container), and httpd administration would be helpful.

Required:
Bachelor's Degree (or about to graduate with a Bachelor's degree) in Computer Science or in a field related to the Computer Engineering or Computer Science disciplines
Up to three years of Java software development experience
Knowledge/Experience with software and web application development
Knowledge/Experience of JavaScript and jQuery development languages
Knowledge/Experience working in an agile task and deliverable driven environment
Ability to problem solve, and collaborate and communicate successfully within a team environment
Proactive in gathering information
Strong writing and communications skills and the ability to interface with customers.
US Citizenship Required
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance - MUST BE US CITIZEN!
Desired
Solr configuration and operations experience; Solr Cloud a plus.
AWS ElasticSearch configuration and operations experience.
Knowledge of or willing to learn to perform development of software to run under Amazon AWS services (in the cloud)
Experience with tools such as Maven, Grunt, JUnit
An understanding of IoC
Extensive Linux experience, including Bash scripting, and performance/resource monitoring

Position location is McLean VA and travel to College Park MD NARA offices.
