Job Description

SUMMARY

The HR Business Analyst will be the subject matter expert for all HR analytics and will be responsible for the development and enhanced build out of HR metrics, trends, reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools to enable business insights.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of sources, including human resource information systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management, and employee surveys, exit interviews, personnel records, competitor practices, and other sources.
  • Helps business partners understand key insights and collaborate to develop and implement action plans leading to real business impact through effective communication and relationship building.
  • Developing novel predictive models and algorithms to help solve business problems with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with HRIS team to ensure that systems and data catalogs align to analytical and data reporting needs, including leading data clean-up efforts and auditing projects for all HR systems
  • Analyzes and interprets business processes, identifying inefficiencies and potential for automation, making recommendations to HR leadership in relation to system updates, program, and/or process improvements.
  • Assists and coordinates HR efforts across multiple HR stakeholders, including partnership with the Finance department on work related to the annual staffing budget process.
  • Prepares various compensation related reports, including data for submission in annual compensation survey participation and uses analytical rigor to interpret quantitative and qualitative information and draw conclusions in a logical, systematic way.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Complete all required compliance exams on an annual basis
  • Travel up to 10% of the time, possible
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience, or
  • A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
Required Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of:
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • Research methods and data analysis techniques;
  • Excel for analysis and presentation of data;
  • Customer service principles.
Skill in:
  • Analyzing and interpreting policies, practices, and procedures;
  • Preparing written reports for audiences at all levels;
  • Maintaining confidentiality;
  • Addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner;
  • Building rapport with employees and managers
Ability to:
  • Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally;
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters and situations;
  • Work under pressure and regularly re-prioritize tasks;
  • Understand and follow broad and complex instructions.
