This Research Technician position is intended for an experienced hire with laboratory experience in inorganic materials synthesis and characterization with Applied Technology/Catalyst lab, based in Richmond, CA. The position is slated through the end of 2019 at this time, and can potentially be extended into the new year based on performance/showing potential.
-Ability to devise experimental protocols and conduct laboratory and bench-scale- research
-Ability to collaborate and coordinate research activities with other internal and external researchers
-Ability to identify and propose new research and technology development ideas in collaboration with other researchers and operations and engineering personnel
-Must be able to interface with other skill sets within research and project teams and effectively integrate key models and data in a timely manner to support team activities and decisions

-Experience with small scale production of solid materials and solid materials handling
-Experience in separating and purifying metals from complex solutions.
-Synthesis of heterogeneous catalyst materials or similar solid materials
-Familiarity with computer controlled equipment, spreadsheets and word processing.
-Solid and dry materials handling experience, preferably on small scale
-Strong mechanical aptitude with process and analytical instruments & techniques
-B.S. degree in Chemistry, or associated disciplines with a specialty in inorganic materials synthesis and characterization, required
-Minimum of 0-2+ years laboratory experience
-Preferred experience in related disciplines
-Strong background in laboratory experimental work and basic laboratory skills in the areas of inorganic and organic chemistry required
-Good understanding and experience of general laboratory wet chemistry methods required
-Good understanding of pressure/temperature synthesis experiments, including autoclaves
-Ability to work with complex tasks, complex projects, and multiple tasks at the same time
-Good computer skills are required â competent in standard Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
