Job description:

The coordinator is responsible for cataloguing existing collaboration relationships, documents, etc., in collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders.  This role may also assist in building an efficient process for initiating new collaborations, especially with academic institutions.  In performing such activities, the individual in this role will take the lead from Alliance Management function and collaborate closely with Legal, IP, Finance, Research/Technology, and Business Development colleagues.  This role may include occasional external interactions with.

Essential functions:

Review and summarize existing collaboration agreements; identify measures of success, and reporting milestones

Develop a catalogue of current and future collaborations with focus on relationships with academic institutions

Seek broad internal cross-functional input on requirements and uses of such a catalogue

Design a process to initiate, review, and approve new academic collaboration agreements in close coordination with various internal stakeholders

Education, experience, and skills:

BS or MS in life science field required; additional business administration related education preferred

2-5  years of relevant experience in life science industry or academic institutions is highly desirable

Experience in interpretation of contracts or other legal documents is desirable

High degree of proficiency with MS Office and internet applications required (including, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Browsers)

Excellent communication skills with an ability to speak, write and negotiate effectively.

Ability to demonstrate solid judgment, tact and discretion.

Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse environment.

A self-starter with excellent time management/organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to work independently.

Demonstrated strong ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
