Overview Starting pay for this position is $36.82/hour; base pay offered may increase based on experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Genetic Counselor provides genetic education, counseling and support to patients and/or families who have genetic disorders, birth defects, or who may be at risk for inherited conditions. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including nursing, Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB providers. In addition, the purpose of the genetic counselor will also be to provide cancer genetic counseling to educate patients about their chance of developing cancer, help patients obtain personal meaning from genetic information, and empower patients to make educated, informed decisions about genetic testing, cancer screening and cancer prevention. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Other Licenses/Certifications: Board eligible or board certified genetic counselor Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
