Job Description Summary
The Regional Sales Director, Alternate Site Market will be responsible for the leadership, planning, developing, and execution of activities to ensure regional revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals are met for the Alternate Site segments. Primary responsibilities are: talent management, coaching and lead a team of senior sales representatives to achieve sales goals while selling a premium product line in an emerging market. Regional Director will identify and coordinate sales efforts by partnering with authorized distributors, Cepheid Acute Health Systems teams within the region and ensure the development of key thought leaders.

• Overall performance of the sales representatives in assigned region.
• Directing, inspiring, coaching and motivating representatives to accomplish sales goals.
• Understanding and utilizing key influences for developing and closing sales via distribution and with direct sales teams in Physician Offices labs, Regional Reference Labs, Urgent Care, Student Health, Community Health Centers, and health systems.
• Introducing new testing concepts and products to the non-acute market.
• Developing and delivering presentations and proposals.
• Attending, hosting and assisting regional meetings and product shows.
• Prospecting and recruiting sales personnel.
• Achieving sales goals.
• The position will be responsible for utilizing and championing DBS tools such as Funnel Management, Action Plans, Problem Solving Process and other relevant growth tools

• Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
• For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time.



Education and Experience (in years):
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of sales experience in Distribution hospital, clinical laboratory, and/or life science markets.
• OR
• Master’s degree with 7+ years of sales experience in Distribution hospital, clinical laboratory, and/or life science markets
• 1 - 3 years sales management experience

• Strong track record of success in both capital and reagent sales.
• Expertise selling premium products.
• Expertise with large account, multiple key stakeholders, multi-departmental sales.
• Knowledge of PCR / molecular testing.
• Proactive approach to analyzing, diagnosing, and prescribing strategic business solutions to meet company sales goals.
• Strong Relationship Building Skills with Sales and Executive Management
• Maintains effective collaboration and coordination of internal resources to ensure company sales goals are met.
• Experience planning and driving new product launch strategies in conjunction with Product Marketing.
• Provides consistent field interaction and communication to ensure company's message is clearly communicated.
• Ability to connect with and coordinate between key customers and internal/external stakeholders to promote and expand business opportunities.
• Coordinate training events for sales personnel within region.
• Hire, assess, train and develop high quality sales reps and recommend changes as necessary.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Experience and success selling to physicians, laboratories, infection control staff and hospital administration.
• Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
• Skilled using a CRM application such as Salesforce.com
