Our team is growing! The Planner/Scheduler prepares and updates bar chart or critical path method (CPM) schedules. Our schedulers develop milestone schedules at the pre-construction stage, permitting schedule based on milestone schedule, and develop duration estimates of specific construction activities based on construction approaches and appropriate production rates. The Planner scheduler engaged with the client project management team and the contractors / subcontractors & vendors to plan the project and reflect the plan in the schedule. This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN, and likely involves 20-30% travel the project site (which primarily are in the Midwest/South East, though can vary. Some planner/scheduler roles are 100% site based

How will you contribute to the team?
- Supports senior scheduling staff, the project team and stakeholders with time management and control.
- Develops and updates summary level as well as detailed schedules.
- Develops lists of design, procurement, construction and post construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions and discussions with Owners, design consultants and contractors.
- Identifies major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items.
- Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
- Develops realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
- Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms.
- Evaluates critical and near critical path activity sequences.
- Assesses actual progress based on site inspections.
- Identifies schedule changes and trends.
- Develops earned value reports.
- Suggests corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
- Review architect and contractor prepared schedules.
- Prepares post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Complexity - Work involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features.
- Decision-making - Most assignments are performed solitarily. Makes decisions on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems.
- Work direction given to others - Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management.
- Minimum 3-year related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software with Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Proficiency in scheduling software; MS project and Primavera(P6).
- Independently develop new project schedules based on drawings.
- Bi-lingual Korean not required, but beneficial.
- Knowledge of permitting procedure in government.
- Experience in construction scheduler and project manager preferred.
