Sr Business Process Analyst- RCM Analytic and Specialty Support (Remote)

Labcorp Burlington, NC (Remote) Full-Time


The Sr. Business Process Analyst is responsible for supporting Labcorp Specialty Services, including Integrated Oncology and Integrated Genetics and the Payor Policy and Relations teams by:

  • Efficiently and effectively tracking evolving payer authorization requirements
  • Ensuring system and or workflow updates based on payer updates related to authorizations for billing-related services
  • Partnering with management team members in logistics, specimen handling area, customer services, sales, and laboratory departments daily to troubleshoot and resolve specimen issues
  • Identifying and articulating business partner needs to appropriate leadership to ensure core business expectations and met
  • Monitoring all KPI reports for specialty support including but not limited to prior authorization and appeal efforts to ensure defined team and department goals are being met
  • Compiling, delivering and communicating statistics for industry incidents, events, or updates that impact the business
  • Actively supporting the execution of strategic initiatives, process design/re-design root cause analysis, metric/report development for prior authorization and Labcorp specialty support services projects

Qualifications preferred:

Associate degree in accounting business office practices computer science or other related area or equivalent experience

Two to three years of progressive work experience in laboratory denials, authorization or business process improvement


Competencies:

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to form and develop team relationships with varying levels of staff

Confidence in asking probing/clarifying questions to varying levels of staff

Create and maintain productive and professional relationships across the enterprise and externally

Ability to mine, analyze, understand and organize large amounts of data Maintain objectivity and communicate relevant findings to varying teams/varying perspectives (RCM, Sales, Marketing, etc.)

Ability to understand workflows from specimen inception to final claim adjudication/payment

Ability to learn external operating systems as needed

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft application experience Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

Macros a plus Knowledge of Healthcare Reimbursement a plus

Ability to research and comprehend medical policies a plus

Experience in root cause analysis, developing and implementing process improvements related to utilization, third-party payers, financing, data, and advocacy.

Working knowledge reimbursement policy issues. 

Working knowledge in revenue cycle (all aspects) and government and commercial payer arrangements.

Meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and the desire to be hands-on in addressing issues and questions bringing them to a successful resolution.

Ability to create and present meeting materials and facilitate discussions

Approachable and willing to engage with diverse personalities and stakeholders, including colleagues, insurance officials, business partners, legal counsel, consultants, and the publicFamiliar with ICD10 and CPT-4 coding. 

Ability to effectively manage multiple demands working under moderate to high degrees of pressure

Ability to multi-task and problem-solve with strong organizational skills

Ability to adhere to strict timelines to avoid costly denials


Pay: Salary range $46,8K - $84,3K
