Network Engineer proficient in analyzing issues, resolving problems, installation, and configuration of client, server and network hardware/software. You will be responsible for all aspects of the Broadcast Networks infrastructure including satellite uplink centers, data center and remote site operations. Provide administration and support of our client's network, firewalls, routers, switches, servers. Network design responsiblities to include, gathering business requirements and conveying design intent to implementation and support teams,, documents automation processes and workflows, participates in creating automation standards for configuring networking devices. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) AND Network Certified Internet Specialist preferred.
  • Architecture and design, creating standards and best practices, evaluate new technologies, fulfilling work requests, responding to incidents, supporting system change requests and project support.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, effectively interact with management, vendors and customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear straightforward manner.
  • Ability to apply advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essential.
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 escalated network support.
  • Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical network environment.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restore.
  • Provide a high level of critical thinking in driving successful resolution of high-impact, complex, cross-functional problems.
  • Network change management: support modifications, maintenance to complex network systems.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades to maintain the high-performance requirements of the environment.
  • Lead implementation of new systems into production network.
  • Perform capacity planning and management of Cisco LAN and WAN backbone connections.
  • Seek out and suggest opportunities for improvement, including changes in technologies and procedures.
  • Create and support network management objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to train and assist junior engineers.
  • Ensure that network documentation is kept up-to-date.
Qualifications: Associate's Degree AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with MIN of 5 years demonstrated experience as follows:
  • Configuring routers and switches in production environments.
  • Documenting complex processes, split logically into subtasks, and turning into requirements for developers to implement.
  • Testing network infrastructure (e.g. routers, switches), Application Programming Interface (API) in lab/ Proof of Concept (POC) environments, documenting results, and working with vendors to address deficiencies.
  • Layer 3 routing and advanced routing technologies
  • Must have advanced functional knowledge of the following technologies
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent knowledge and experience..
    • Juniper Network Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS)or equivalent knowledge and experience..
