Position Summary:

To grow Dymax Oligomers & Coatings’ market share by managing the development, commercialization, and life cycle of our raw material products based on market needs. Utilizing existing and future product lines, synchronize all elements of a fully integrated program by working with multiple functions including: Customers, R&D, Operations, Applications, Marketing Communications, Field Sales, Channel Partners, Dymax Leadership Team, and outside Market Influencers. The focus for this role is on the Bomar product line, inclusive of urethane (meth)acrylate oligomers, other (meth)acrylated and reactive materials, and contract manufacturing business.

Strategic Focus:

Product Stewardship; New product development oversight including business case development; Product life cycle management; Product promotion; Competitive Analysis.

Responsibilities:

Product Stewardship

Ensure the proactive management of the product life cycle.  Define standards for both existing and new products under development, price maintenance, optimize costing (i.e. multiple source qualification), and align with manufacturing to ensure Business Continuity Planning  (BCP) is maintained.  Manage raw material replacement with Business Development and R&D teams.  Coordinate and drive necessary regulatory and industry certification/testing for new products and as needed for commercial products. Facilitate product line reviews to assess product specification suitability. Review and manage product profitability, and support sourcing and R&D efforts to drive product costs lower.

New Product Development (NPD)

In concert with the Business Unit Director, create support for new product development.  Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. Provide oversight on new products under development, coordinate with the commercial organization to ensure customer partner is engaged throughout the NPD process.  Ensure supply chain and manufacturing are positioned to scale new product when completed.  Own commercialization plan used to drive new product activities including launch packages and global technical training when applicable. Work with Business Development on creation of Technology Roadmaps and alignment with Strategic Plan.

Product Promotion

Collaborate with necessary commercial facets to develop training materials, pricing strategy, value proposition presentations, and trade show/publications.  Works with MarCom and Business Development Manager to develop product launch packages, literature, sell sheets, Product Datasheets.

Market Intelligence:

Become a Subject Matter Expert in product/market/application areas.  Keep up with product and competitor developments in the market focused area and provide input into product technology roadmaps, Responsible for monitoring competitor activity for managed product lines/segments and benchmarking. Coordinate any relevant industry certification/testing as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

•      Requires strong organizational/time management skills and close attention to detail.

•      Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, develop          and  maintain processes, and meet deadlines.

•      Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Business, Marketing or related field of study.

•      3 years of relevant experience in industrial B2B marketing, or strong background in                    technical field of UV curable materials.  

•      Specialty chemical sales or marketing experience is preferred

•      Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.

•      Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish a diversified        workload.

Domestic and International Travel

Up to 25% of time could be spent on domestic and international travel to obtain VoC and VoM relative to the product strategic growth plan.
