Position: Tooling Engineer – II Cost Control

Job Title: Tooling Engineer – II

Department: Manufacturing Engineering

Reports To: Tool Manager – Purchasing/Cost Control

Job Summary: Provides support and expertise to the Cost Control group in the areas of design, development, and cost of quality injection molds.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Provides design and technical support to Cost Control to ensure that quality injection molds are created
2. Reviews new product designs and 3-D data for new tooling and develops quotes for tool construction using the Siemens tooling software
3. Reviews and verifies Mold Spec Sheets, engineering changes and major tool
repairs from a cost standpoint as necessary
4. Creates monthly tool cost reports and distributes them tomanagement
5. Stays current with state of the art tooling and processes
6. Mentors, coaches, and trains Cost Engineers and other personnel in the area of tooling functions, design, construction, standards, and cost in order to raise the skill level of the Cost Control staff
7. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Must meet one of the following Education and Experience requirements:
a. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline, plus 2 to 4 years of related manufacturing experience including 2 years in a senior or lead role; OR
b. Associate's Degree in Tool/Die Technology, plus 4 to 6 years of related manufacturing experience — including 2 years in a senior or lead role;OR
c. Journeyman Tool/Die Maker, plus 2 to 4 years of related manufacturing experience including 2 years in a senior or lead role
2. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Analytical and problem solving skills
b. Organizational, planning, and project managementskills
c. Computer skills — proficiency using standard business software (including MS Office)
d. Technical writing skills
e. Written and verbal communications skills
f. Interpersonal skills — ability to confidently inte4 act with individuals at all levels of authorityand
maintain composure in stressful, confrontational, and/or sensitive situations
