Job Description

This position assists with the management and day-to-day administration of university-sponsored benefits plans, such as medical, dental, HSA, FSA, and Tuition Benefit plans. Oversees over $64 million in plan assets. Ensures that appropriate eligibility and benefits are provided in accordance with governmental regulations, plan documents, and coordinated with other policies and programs. Provides outreach and education to employees, conducting presentations and webinars throughout the year. Reviews and updates communication materials, benefit-related plan documents, web content and training materials. Works closely with other team members and the HR Customer Care team to assist employees with complex questions and escalated issues.

Must be able to serve as a subject matter expert in legal and regulatory requirements in functional area(s) e.g., ERISA, DOL, Treasury, IRS, etc. for Health Savings Accounts (HSA), High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP), Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSA) and Tuition Benefit. Requires strong excel skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years experience. Experience may be in human resources or related field (examples would include: health care delivery, health care financing, healthcare claim and enrollment systems, or customer service).

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Proficient in data analysis and problem solving. Exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with both internal and external constituents. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications 

Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, finance, business management or a related field. Five years of professional experience in human resources. Experience with developing and implementing employee benefit programs in a large, complex organization.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands 

Standard office physical requirements, including ability to sit at a computer workstation for up to 8 hours in a day.
