QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh client located in Hazelwood, Missouri.

Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm with some overtime

Pay Rate:  $18.00 per hour Paid Weekly

The Big Picture – Top Skills Should You Possess:

  • Knowledge of dimensional inspections of material, and/or inspection and release of finished goods which includes a significant amount of documentation (batch record review).  Experienced with inspection in process, final inspections, review of batch record / device history record, and release of the product.

  • Technical Degree with at least 5 years’ experience 
  • Strong mathematical and technical capabilities relating to the role, including ability to read and interpret complex blueprints

What You'll Be Doing:

Ensure compliance to company specifications, workmanship standards, and Quality System requirements in the Instrument Manufacturing area.  Individual must inspect/test/audit materials & processes in a timely fashion while, at the same time, ensuring conformance to all requirements. 

  • Control Nonconforming Material:  Transport conforming parts to inventory, including all necessary computer transactions and written record completion.  For materials found to be nonconforming, this responsibility includes the generation of “nonconforming material reports”, requiring a technically accurate description of the anomalies.
  • Conduct Manufacturing Audits:  Perform Quality Control in-process inspections & audits necessary to support Instrument Manufacturing.  This responsibility includes assessment of sub-assemblies, finished devices, and the assembly & test processes for conformance to documented requirements.
  • Execute Product Release:  Perform final inspections of completed medical devices and accessories, including the detailed review of the Device History Record package to confirm the completeness and accuracy of records prior to formally releasing the instrument for distribution.
  • Perform First Article Inspections:  on complex mechanical & electrical parts.  This responsibility includes interpreting blueprint requirements, choosing the proper inspection equipment and techniques, and confirming conformance to specifications.
  • Performing the QC testing routinely results in the need to investigate non-conformances, and either independently address them, or interface with technicians and/or engineers to diagnose and remedy the problem.
  • This role inherently involves material handling, requiring the knowledge and discipline to ensure the safety of the employee and their co-workers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Two year technical degree and at least 5 years related experience.  Mathematical abilities, including trigonometry.
  • Ability to use precision mechanical measuring instruments, coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, microscopes, measure scopes, meters and other various electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, a plus would be the knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Computer literacy adequate to interface with the MRP system, the NCMR (Nonconforming Material Report) system, interoffice e-mail, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Familiarity with instruments and accessories being manufactured.
  • Knowledge of the company’s quality system, and all applicable procedures.
  • Ability to communicate criticism in a manner that avoids hard feelings, and ability to advocate quality improvements in a manner that will foster concurrence rather than resistance.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and to complete projects in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to be a leader in groups of peers from production and QC.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and analysis skills.

Additional skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to use precision mechanical measuring instruments, coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, microscopes, measure scopes, meters and other various electrical test equipment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and analysis skills. 
  • Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position
  • Knowledge of Geometric Demensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
