Intern - Community Services Digital Content

About The Position

The Community Services division, comprised of Human and Social Services, Library Services, Parks & Recreation, and WestWorld departments is seeking a creative, self-driven, and innovative intern. This temporary, part-time assignment will create digital content by recording and editing videos to be used on the city of Scottsdale's website and via various social media platforms, LinkedIn, and/or other mediums.

Scottsdale's Communication Supervisor and/or other Communication staff will provide assignment, story board and campaign plan, but the successful candidate will be responsible for capturing and editing digital content according to direction and city standards, resulting in a final version that is ready to be posted online.

Preference will be given to candidate's who are able to demonstrate experience with video creation and editing using Final Cut Pro or iMovie.

Please note:

* Due to this position being part-time, it is unclassified, meaning it is at-will and serves at the discretion of the City.
* The intent of this position is to work30hours per week through 8/01/2023, not to exceed one year from date of hire.
* At the end of the employment term, this individual will either be separated or be given an opportunity to apply for or be offered a different position, but only if one is available and the minimum qualifications of the new position are met.
* This position has limited benefits, as required by law.

Selection Process

Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include an interview. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:

* Fingerprinting
* Criminal Background screening for the past 7 years

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

* No experience required for this position.
* Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within a year from an accredited college or university degree program in a field related to the department in which assigned.
* Preference: Video production experience.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

* Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Otherpertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/section assignment.

Essential Functions

Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:

* Provides staff assistance to various divisions of the City government; tasks will vary based on assignment.
* Attends related training sessions, various meetings, citizens committees and citizen boards and commissions, as directed.

* Most work is performed in a normal City office environment.
* Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
* Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
* Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
